Trek on the railway track

The green route "trek on the railway track", is a stretch of track from sakaleshpur to the Subrahmanya rail road station, which was closed down in 1996 to convert the gauge from meter to broad gauge. In the 2007 the train service was commissioned and nowadays many people are use the train to reach donegal and start the trek thereafter.

This track, that traverses some distance of the Western Ghats, had been abandoned, but now the track has been converted to broad-gauge. It forms a part of 56.80 km stretch from sakaleshpur to Kukke Subrahmanya, dotted by 58 tunnels, 109 bridges and about 25 waterfalls. Since 2005 goods trains are carrying freight to/from the Mangalore port. It’s recommended to trek after monsoon season i.e. during October. The passenger trains have started playing on the route since 2008. Currently, there are two passenger trains running on this route, one from Mysore via Hassan(daily), and another from Bangalore, via tumkur and arsikere(alternate days). Another place to trek in sakaleshpur taluk is Bisle ghat or Bisle reserve forest.

A trek to JENUKALLU mountain

The western ghats is a trekkers paradise. A trek to JENUKALLU mountain, which is the second highest peak in Karnataka will be the most memorable experience.

From the top of Jenukallu Mountain on a clear day, one can see the coast of Arabian Sea in Mangalore. Needless to say, you will be on top of the world after climbing the peak of JENUKALLU. If you are not interested in long distance treks, then the mountain which stands right next to the resort is the place for you. You can watch the beautiful sunset and sunrise and of course the mesmerizing landscape of western ghats

Plantation Walk

A walk around and inside the coffee estate with silent wind will relax the mind. Also you can hear song of birds and insects.

Take a guided tour of the 300 acre working coffee and spice plantation on foot. Learn first hand the difference between an Arabica and Robusta, discover how the Malabar blend got ‘monsooned’, and explore the spice scented pathways of Orange County to slip into the spirit of the land.

Bonfire

Bonfire has some charm that sets the mood for a quality outdoor gathering for friends and family. Sitting around the fire under the vast silent sky within the wilderness always will leave you with lingering nights.

Barbeque

We have a barbeque set that you can use to have an outdoor barbeque party (unless it’s raining). If you are unsure on how to set up a barbeque, we can help you prepare some succulent well marinated meat and veggies. Do let us know in advance if you like to have a barbeque.

Outdoor Games

Outdoor Games: Volleyball, Cricket, Badminton can be played in the facility (The playing yards wont be available during the coffee picking season - January to March).
